You may have seen mention on FaceBook that several SW Minnesota neighborhoods are being hit by people posing as Internet and TV service salespeople. Some are impostors pretending to work for nationally known service providers, while others are actually employed by the company but giving out false information which is not honored by the provider. Some have even been so bold as to ask for credit card information or a personal check.
Reminder, it is never a good idea to give personal information (date of birth, social security number, banking or credit card information, etc.) to anyone that contacts you without your prior consent. Whether it be someone on the phone, online or at your front door… The best course of action is to ask for information in writing with a contact number. That way you can research the offer and deal directly with the company itself.
