A brief storm update on Internet Service from MVTV President, Dan Richter –
As of Friday, July 15, MVTV Technicians had completed 237 repairs due to the July 1, 2011 storm that rolled through our Internet service area. The storm did damage to individual household antennas, tip down towers and tripods from Marshall to Hutchinson, MN. I believe most of the damage has been repaired with only 6 repairs done on Friday, July 15.
We had three Gas Generators running at Cottonwood, Milroy and Belview on July 2, 3 and 4th with only Echo Breeze Com AP being destroyed. We have since moved all of those 15 subscribers to the Echo City Water Tower Access Point. Several of MVTV’s link antennas had to be re-aimed but were largely undamaged.
MVTV’s 89 Access Points were all basically running within twenty-four hours of the storm. Many were not down at all.
All of our Office Staff, Network Technicians, Network Administrator and contracted staff did a great job getting things up and running and Internet service restored. This is the biggest storm that MVTV has weathered, and I Thank All of You for Your Efforts.
