KEN Leatherworks

 KEN Leatherworks

Kristin Noble – There are 2 big things that helped me get started in Leatherworking. I like to sew and I am a huge animal lover! KEN Leatherworks is a culmination of the things I love. I really enjoy creating things from leather. It can be a dog collar, knife sheath or chaps. It is just plan fun to work with leather and create something unique. I have learned that leatherworking is a beautiful art. I know there are a lot of cheaper leather products to be had out there, but it is my goal to create something for you that you will truly cherish and be proud to own a lifetime. Please feel free to contact me with questions or to place an order. I’d love to make something for you!

Repeal Day – December 5th

On January 16th, 1919 Congress passed the 18th Amendment which outlawed alcohol. The Amendment was hoping to put an end to Repealdrunkenness, poverty and crime. Unfortunately, the Amendment lost respect which lead drunkenness and crime to run rampant on the federal government. Finally, after thirteen long years on December 5th, 1933, ratified the 21st Amendment which repealed Prohibition and the right to a celebratory drink. Since than December 5th has been known as Repeal Day in America which marks a return to the rich traditions of craft fermentation and responsible enjoyment of alcohol as a social custom.

There are no outfits to buy, costumes to rent, rivers to dye green. Simply celebrate the day by stopping by your local bar, tavern, saloon, winery, distillery, or brewhouse and having a drink. Pick up a six-pack on your way home from work. Split a bottle of wine with a loved one. Buy a shot for a stranger. Just do it because you can. Jeffrey Morgenthaler

Granite Falls, MN would like to invite you to help celebrate “Our American Prohibition Story” on Repeal Day Dec 5th, 2014. Spend this exciting day shopping and dining in Andrew Volstead’s hometown. Don’t forget to stop by the home of Andrew Volstead which will be open from 5 PM – 6:30 PM.
