Less than a month ago a fire took place in a small town in rural southwestern Minnesota. Eight businesses were either damaged or destroyed that night in downtown Madelia. Today, the residence and businesses of Madelia continue to work hard to rebuild their community but know it will never be the same. Surrounding communities are stepping up to help out their neighbors in need by hosting fundraisers. Check out twitter for more information on how you can help at #madeliastrong.
Join us at the table to help our neighbor – our family – rise out of the ashes of fire that destroyed their main street, their business district, their livelihoods – and help them remain

Join us on March 6th for a Pancake Feed fundraiser to help support the aid of the recent Madelia fire tragedy. Your free will donation will be given directly to aid in the recovery of the Madelia business community. Unable to attend? You can still show your support by sending your tax deductable donation to the Lake Crystal Area Chamber of Commerce. (please put Madelia Strong in the check memo.) Let’s do this together!
Madelia has suffered a loss that is larger than it appears. Not only did many great businesses, owners and employees suffer but so has the entire community including both past and present residents. This is the heart of the city and the pride of many. These buildings represent the foundation and historical beginnings of the Madelia community. Thank you to all that have helped this community in the past few weeks with clean up, donations, and support. Let’s continue to help keep #madeliastrong!
