Attention Members: Updated MVTV Wireless COVID-19 Response Efforts:
In order to do our part to help prevent the spread of COVID-19, MVTV Wireless is continuing social distancing measures. Our Granite Falls office location will be closed to the public until further notice.
We will be available during normal office hours of Monday – Friday 8:00 am – 4:30 pm. Our staff will be working remote and available by email or by calling 320-564-4807 during normal office hours.
Payments can be mailed to PO Box A, Granite Falls, MN, dropped off in the MVTV drop box outside of Robert Danielowski’s office at 752 Prentice Street in Granite Falls, made online through the customer portal, or over the phone during business hour. Autopay will still run on the 18th of the month.
Technicians will be deployed only to healthy households and will be taking protective measures in accordance with State of MN executive orders.
As the situation with COVID-19 (coronavirus) continues to evolve, MVTV Wireless’ priority is the safety and health of our employees, our members, and the public; in addition to the high internet demand of our members due to social distancing.
We are working diligently to maintain and upgrade our Network on a regular basis. We are currently working with upstream providers to add additional capacity to the network. Please be aware that the process can take months. Given the global COVID-19 crisis; internet providers, vendors, and end carriers are doing the very best they can to meet unprecedented demands.
If anyone experiences slowness, please understand that our Network is being flooded with unprecedented use with people working from home, distance learning, and streaming applications.
As a member, you can help our Network and ensure that your internet is available for the critical applications that you need (i.e. work, school) by:
- Reducing streaming activities for entertainment (i.e. Netflix, Hulu, YouTube, Facetime)
- Stagger the hours or limit and monitor the number of people/devices in your home using the internet at the same time.
For those of you that are experiencing financial hardship, MVTV will not be assessing late charges on past due accounts or shutting off internet service for non-payment in March and April.
As a small business, we are not able to provide free internet. We do have a discounted internet package available for people who qualify for the nationwide program, PCs for People. This program is for low-income families and individuals. PCs for People is completely separate from MVTV Wireless. You would need to go to their website, apply, and receive program approval. If approved, MVTV does offer a discounted 6 Mbps PCs for People discounted internet package for $29.99 per month (PCs for People approval documentation is required). If you are interested in applying for this program or to see their eligibility guidelines, please go to the PCs for People website: https://www.pcsforpeople.org/
MVTV Wireless also provides free public Wi-Fi Hotspots in partnership with Nobles and Kandiyohi County. For a list of locations go to https://www.mvtvwireless.com/hotspot-services/
We thank you for your cooperation, patience, and support as we all work through this time of crisis. We wish all of our members’ safety & good health!
Sincerely,
MVTV Wireless
