Our MVTV Wireless story starts fifty years ago in a southwestern Minnesota town called Granite Falls. The boys high school basketball team found themselves headed to the state playoffs in March of 1960. In an effort to cheer on their team and follow their journey to the state championships, a small group of volunteers decided to raise money in an attempt to bring the televised event to Granite Falls. Through their enthusiasm and determination, they were able to raise money and debut the first six channel television system to the rural Minnesota community.
This early television system started on the top of the Foshay Tower in Minneapolis, MN; with the signal traveling to Winthrop, MN, then on to Morton and Bird Island, finally making its way to Granite Falls. While MVTV Wireless is well known for their modern-day Internet service, to this day, we still provide television service to a 30 mile radius of the Granite Falls area.
High speed wireless broadband Internet service was added in 1999. If you know of someone who would like more information about MVTV Wireless, please contact us today: 320.564.4807
